What is Radon Potential?

This is simply the chance of a building having a radon level that is at least as high as the Action Level. It is usually given as a percentage figure in one of 6 bands. The higher the Radon Potential band, the greater the chance will be that the building has a high radiation level. This is also sometimes called the Radon Risk for a property (not to be confused with radon health risks).

We have worked with the British Geological Survey (BGS) to create a data set that holds information about the Radon Potential for every 25 metre by 25 metre square throughout England, Wales and Scotland. This is the definitive source of radon potential for Great Britain.
